Carbon Canyon Nature Trail
1.1 mile nature trail leading to a 10 acre grove of Coastal Redwood Trees
(Sequoia sempervirens). The trail has directional signs pointing to the redwood
grove and other signs with information about local plants and wildlife.
There are approximately 200 tightly spaced trees in the grove and many are
as tall as 100 feet.
HISTORY OF THE GROVE: More than 30 years ago a local bank had about 500
redwood seedlings leftover from a customer give-away. The bank donated the
seedlings to Fullerton College students who cared for them and later
gifted them to Orange County. The county planted the grove in 1975.
The Carbon Canyon Nature Trail is located within the undeveloped section of
Carbon Canyon Regional Park. Note that signs at the trailhead warn that
mountain lions have been known to attack humans in the area, although
attacks are a rare occurrence.

Olinda Hiking Trail
The 1.9 mile hiking trail located on the grounds
of a city park that also features the Olinda Oil Museum.
The Olinda Hiking Trail and the Olinda Museum are located
on the corner of Carbon Canyon Road and Santa Fe Road.
