The Green Pleasure Pier over Avalon Bay is a blue-green colored
pier that was built in 1909 by the Banning Brothers' Catalina Island
Company.
1906: First pier built over Avalon Bay
1908: That first pier was destroyed by a storm
1909: Second pier built and it still stands today
1914: Pier sold to the City of Avalon for $5.00
1915: Pier was given the name "Pleasure Pier"
