Catalina Explorer
Formerly provided scheduled ferry service and charter cruises between Long Beach and Catalina Island on a high speed catamaran that could accommodate up to 149 passengers. Fares for most adults were $24 each way, $48 round trip. Ferries departed from the Pine Avenue Pier at Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach, Southern Los Angeles County, California. HISTORY: Beginning in 1999, and for several years, they operated out of Dana Point. Beginning on September 16, 2003 they operated ferry service from both Dana Pint and Long Beach. Note that the Catalina Explorer Web site at "catalina ekxplorer co dot com" is no longer online.
