Drytown State Historical Landmark
The gold rush town of Drytown was founded in 1848, making
it the oldest town in Amador County. It was also the first
Amador County town in which gold was discovered.
It was designated California State Historic Site #31
on August, 1, 1932. This historic site masrker is located
jon California State Highway 49, about about 0.2 miles north
of the community of Drydtown
