Visitor's Center
Big Bear Discovery Center
Visitor's center on the north shore of Big Bear Lake that was built in 1998.
Features exhibits, eco-tours, weekly programs, and brochures and other
printed information for Big Bear Lake visitors.
The center's Big Bear Discovery Amphitheater is a venue
for special events such as outdoor concerts, theater productions,
and interpretive programs.
Operated as a partnership between the United States Forest Service
and the San Bernardino National Forest Association.
Located at 40971 North Shore Drive (Highway 38) in the community
of Fawnskin.
Marinas
Captain John's Fawn Harbor and Marina
Has launch ramp,
rentals lips or mooring,
Public dock for fishing,
picnic area,
barbecues, and
restrooms.
Offers rental of
fishing boats,
fishing poles,
pontoon boats,
kayaks,
canoes,
pedal boats, and paddleboards.
Also has tour boat, waterskiing, boat repairs,
snacks and drinks, fishing guides, and
fishing bati and tackle.
Located at 39369 North Shore Drive in Fawnskin.
North Shore Landing
Has rental slips or moorings and restrooms,
Offers rental of jet skis, fishing boats, pontoon boats, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards
Also has
tour boat, waterskiing,
boat repair,
snacks and drinks,
and fishing bait and tackle.
Located about two miles west of Fawnskin
at 38573 North Shore Drive in Fawnskin.
Parks
Dana Point Park
Six acre park with lake access, picnic tables, and restrooms.
Located at 39369 Northshore Drive in Fawnskin.
Miller Park
1.1 acre park with a tennis court, basketball court, playground
equipment, picnic tables, portable toilets,
and the Big Bear area's original schoolhouse, a
building that can be rented for meetings and special events.
Located at 1178 Chickasaw in Fawnskin.
Grout Bay Picnic Area
Picnic ara managhed by the United States Forest Service.
Facilities include picnic tables, toilets, and space for parking.
Note that the site is closed during the Eagle season from
December 1 thorugh March 31.
Located about a quarter of a ile west of Fawnskin
o HIghway 38.
Grays Peak Trail
The trailhead is located across the road from
the above Grout Bay Picnic Area
Fawn Park
Park built on land that, at least at one time, was
privately owned by husband and wife actors
Marty Ingles and Shirley Jones. They purchased the plot
to prevent it from being developed and turned it into a park.
Something happened in July of 2006 that resulted in it being
closed for several years.
When the park re-opened in September of 2011 it
featured a memorial to those who died in the September 11 attackes
on the World Trade Center in New York City.

Shops and Markets
North Shore Antiques and Collectibles
Antique store and gift shop that was
first opened by Carol and Ernie Lorimor in 2001.
The store is about 1300 square feet in size and
it sells items such as lamps furniture,
sculptures, jewelry, vintage hats, and many other
types of antiques and collectibles.
