Los Alamitos is a small city in northwest Orange County, about half of which is occupied by the by the 1,319 acre (2 square mile) Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base, formerly the Los Alamitos Naval Air Station. Los Alamos is adjacent to the cities of Cypress, Garden Grove, Seal Beach, the unincorporated community of Rossmoor, and the Los Angeles county cities of Hawaiian Gardens and Long Beach. Note that the Los Alamitos Horseracing Track is adjacent to the city of Los Alamitos, but it is actually across the street and within the city of Cypress.
