State Park
Mount San Jacinto State Park
State park more than 13,000 acres in size that was
established in ?
The park features 10,800 foot Mount San Jacinto, the summit
of which can be reached by riding an aerial tram from
Palm Springs. The park can also be accessed by driving
on Highway 243 from Idyllwild. The park is a mostly wilderness
area with three mountain peaks. One of the five California
State Parks through which the Pacific Crest Trail passes.

California Citrus State Historic Park
248 acre state park established in 1984 to
interpret the influence of California's citrus Industry.

State Recreation Area
Lake Perris State Recreation Area
State recreation area more then 6,000 acres in size that was
established in 1974. The park is centered around Lake Perris,
the most southerly of the reservoirs in the 700 mile California
State Water Project. Other attractions in the park include
the Ya'i Heki' Regional Indian Museum. Located aout 11
miles south of Riverside. Activities include
boating,
sailing,
boat fishing,
shore fishing,
swimming,
waterskiing,
and a special area has been designated for scuba diving.
Land activities inclue hiking, camping, horseback riding,
rock climbing, bining, and one of the largest state
campgrounds in California.

Indio Hills Palms Park Property
State park property that was acquired in 1983.
Features groves of native California fan palms growing along
a portion of the San Andreas fault that captures groundwater.
Situated within the Nature Conservancy's Coachella Valley Preserve.
Located about four miles north of Indio.
San Timoteo Canyon Park Property
State park property about 1,150 acres in size that was acquired in 2002.
Located at the foot of the Riverside County Badlands.
Activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding, and picnic.
The park is mostly undeveloped and plans are to keep it that way.
Wildwood Canyon Park Property
State park property about 850 acres in size that was acquired in 2002.
