Parks in Scotts Valley

SkyPark
The largest park in Scotts Valley has a 20,000 square foot skate park, an enclosed dog park with separate sections for large and small dogs, 4 lighted tennis courts, 2 playgrounds, soccer fields, bocce ball courts, picnic areas, and a walking trail known as the Linear Park Native Plant Walkway. The Scotts Valley Skypark is located at 361 Kings Village Road.

Skypark Skate ParkS
The Scotts Valley Skatepark is a 20,000 square foot skate park ocated inside Skypark at 316 Kings Village Road. Also known as the Tim Brauch Memorial Skatepark.

Camp Evers Fishing Park
Fishing hole for young people age 15 and under that is stocked with trout and open from April to August. Located at 3475 Glen Canyon Road about half a mile from Mount Herman Road.

MacDorsa Park
Park featuring the historic home of the Hiram Scott family, founders of Scotts Valley. Other facilities include picnic area, barbecues, a playground, and grassy areas. (is this the park that hgas 2 fighting bear sculptures from the defunct Lost World and 2 giant mushrooms from the defunct Santa's Village?)

Siltanen Park
Located at 127 Vine Hill School Road in Scotts Valley. Has a swimming pool, a softball field, a soccer field, horseshoe pits, and barbecue pits.

Siltanen Family Swim Center

Lodato Park Trails
Wilderness area with a 1.5 mile hiking trail that loop upward through redwood and oak trees and back down to the parking area. Note that Lodato park has no facilities except the trails. Located at the end of Green Hills Road. See also the 2011 article "Lodato Park Trail System Will Soon Expand".

Hocus Pocus Park
Small neighborhood park consisting of two sections connected by a walkway. The Lundy Lane side of the park has a playground, and bathrooms and the Whispering Pines Drive side has half court basketball and a barbecues. Parking is available on the street on the Lundy Lane side of the park.

Scotts Valley Senior Center
Established to provide older adults with a place to find companionship, assistance, and opportunities to pursue interests such as recreational and craft activities and classes. Located at 370 Kings Village Road.

Scotts Valley Community Center
6,000 square foot community center with two facilities. The main hall is surrounded by windows and skylights and it can accommodate about 100 to 160 people depending on the type of event and seating. The smaller Fireside Room can accommodate about 50 to 100 people. Located at 360 Kings Village Road.

Scotts Valley Sports Center
Located at 251 Kings Village Road in Scotts Valley. For more information call 831-430-0939 (last time I checked the center's Web site at scottsvalleysportscenter.com was no longer online)

Tree Circus
Near the south end of Scotts Valley Drive, watch for Tree Circus Center. At the front of the building, you’ll see a bronze plaque describing the Tree Circus, once a forest of tree-trunk topiaries grafted and shaped by Axel Erlandson from 1947 to 1963. You’ll also see two trees that were once grafted together. A short walk to the back of the building reveals a second topiary created from three trees.

Lost World
Fiberglass dinausaurs once visible from Highway 17. Two fighting bear sculptures were from that attraction. Now they are in same park as Hiram D. Scott House.

Santa Cruz Sky Park (1947-1983)
Airport once located in Scotts Valley. Built as a private airfield in 1947 and closed in 1983.
