Summer 2014 article published in the Appeal Democrat Newspaper about the status of a casino the Enterprise Rancheria is planning to build on 40 acres along Forty Mile Road in South Yuba County. The Native American tribe requesting approval to build the casino is the Enterprise Rancheria Estom Yumeka Maidu Tribe, which is based in Butte County. A unique feature of this casino building request is that instead of being built on tribal lands in Butte County, the proposal is to build the casino within a 900 acre sports and entertainment zone designated within Yuba County. The plan includes building a casino with an adjacent 170 room hotel and swimming pool, restaurants, a bar, and gift shops, and conference facilities.
